It’s fall, that means pumpkins, apples, apple cider, and lots and lots of colorful leaves. No matter how amazing Maine is during the summer, I can always look forward to the fall. During the month of October there are two events that are coming to the Lewiston-Auburn area that I think we should all share in.

Dempsey Challenge 2013 (Oct. 12-13, 2013)
While the mission of the #NoBull Project is to work towards creating a safe and welcoming community for all, we also recognize that other organizations are also very worthy causes. The #NoBull Project has decided to show it’s support for those who suffer from, or take care of someone who suffers from Cancer. The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing provides free services to just that population. In order to provide these services the annual Dempsey Challenge is held, which is a bike, run, walk event that brings in over $1 million annually. The #NoBull Project would like to show their support for this organization!

Please join the #NoBull Project by making a donation, or volunteering at the event – or even just attending the event. You can learn more about the event online at DempseyChallenge.org.

License to Speak Poetry Slam (Oct. 27th, 2013: 2pm)
The #NoBull Project has partnered with local organizations to put on the License to Speak Poetry Slam. This is a safe and free event that offers a space for anyone and everyone to share their poetry and spoken word pieces. The License to Speak team is still looking for people wishing to share their poetry. If you are interested in sharing please register online at LicensetoSpeak.org.

The License to Speak event is a FREE event held at the Franco-American Heritage Center on Oct. 27th, 2013 at 2pm. All are welcome to attend.

Hope to see you at these great events.

Sincerely,
Samuel Chamberlain
